Job Duties:
Key member of the test team. Responsibilities include identifying and defining detailed system and subsystem tests for communication systems and their associated interfaces with other applications, preparing test plans and defining test configurations to support required tests. Appropriately represent the needs of stakeholders while maintaining overall project integrity.
Major Duties:
1. Analyze product requirements and create detailed test cases to validate product functionality
2. Identify test scenarios and configurations
3. Prepare and maintain test plans
4. Work closely with the development team, program office, analysts, and customers in identifying required tests
5. Participate in functional, integration, usability, configuration and installation testing
6. Execute test cases in accordance with test plans
7. Communicate test results and status
8. Evaluate the outcome of each test cycle and participate in reviews
Job Skills:
Requirements
§ Minimum of a BS degree in engineering, computer science, or related field
§ 5+ years experience with communication systems test engineering and requirements analysis
§ Knowledge of both manual and automated testing of embedded systems
§ Knowledge of Ethernet networks, TCP/IP, and other communication protocols
§ 3+ years experience using a scripting language for testing and control of products and systems
§ Clear understanding of embedded software development practices
§ Involvement in projects developing embedded software, C/C++, and real time systems
§ Excellent attention to detail
§ Strong problem solving and analytical skills
§ Excellent written and verbal communication skills plus well-developed office software skills
§ Organized and detailed self starter, able to work independently with little supervision
§ Adapts readily to changes in scope and purpose
§ Understanding of common software failures and faults
Desirable
§ Experience with development or testing of wireless systems and products
§ Working knowledge of common wireless protocols, network topologies, and IT infrastructure
§ Working knowledge of telecom networks
