Job Duties:
We are looking for an expert systems engineer to lead a newly formed Oracle Team to support varied customers in Washington State. The Team will be responsible for system analysis, database design, and best practices database administration. The selected person must have a strong background in SUN Solaris, Oracle, VMWare, SANs, and disaster recovery. Some travel required, but work can be done via VPN from offsite.
Job Description The Senior Systems Engineer will be responsible for:
• Recommending specific system architecture, installation strategy, daily backup procedures, and disaster recovery procedures. Team works with Dell and SUN hardware products.
• Assist development of the Team Work Plan to include tasks, timeline, staff assignments, communications strategy, deliverables, and change control.
• Provide system administration skills for patch updates, performance tuning, backup and disaster recovery applications: installation, configuration and training of other Team members.
Job Skills:
The Senior Systems Engineer should have system administration and disaster recovery experience working for a large consulting firm, Fortune 500 corporation or major public agency.
• At least 8 years experience in system administration and disaster recovery encompassing large, complex systems in a Solaris/Oracle environment to include the following:
o SUN Solaris OS and SUN hardware including SUN StorageTek 6140 FC and SUN StorageTek 2510 iSCSI SANs
o VMWare
o RedHat Linux
o Windows Server 2003, 2008
o SOA architecture
o Oracle 10g, Solaris OS
o Oracle running on Windows server
o Oracle Financials and HRMS installation
o Peoplesoft HRMS
• Expert at backup systems and data de-duplication.
• Consulting on complex service delivery process improvements.
• Experienced developing IT infrastructure architecture conforming to ITIL.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Bachelors degree in Information Management Systems or related field or certifications and commensurate experience.
