Job Duties:
Summary:
Design, develop, test, and maintain software for the physical layer of radio communications networks. Primarily this position involves software development for signal processing functionality and working with the devices and tools used in such development.

Major Duties:
1. Design, develop, and test wireless communications FPGA and DSP code for the Client products.
2. Perform signal processing analysis, design and simulations for the Client products.
3. Provide defect resolution and maintenance for FPGA and DSP code on the Client products.
4. Adhere to the guidelines for code development as practiced by the Firmware Engineering team.
5. Work with other team members and groups as needed in order to achieve the Client deliverables.
6. Apply fundamental knowledge of computing systems, mathematics, wireless communications systems, digital signal processing, system safety, security, and protocol design as they relate to FPGA and DSP code development.

Job Skills:
Essential:
 • MSEE with 3+ years or BSEE with 5+ years experience in digital signal processing.
• Working knowledge of wireless data communications products.
• Experience designing and implementing communications signal processing firmware for FPGAs or DSPs.
• Experience with TI or Analog Devices DSPs.
• Experience with Altera or Xilins FPGAs.
• Experience with Matlab and Simulink.
• Experience with Verilog or VHDL.
• Experience with EDA tools and IDEs used for FPGA firmware development.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong orientation towards quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
• Established team player qualities.

Desirable:
• Experience with Altera FPGAs preferable.
• Experience with TI C6x DSPs preferable.
• Familiarity with embedded software development on CPUs.
• Familiarity with Subversion version control software.
• Experience working in an Agile software development environment.
