Job Duties:
Summary
Key member of the architecture team focused on analysis and design of IP networks, network components, and architectures. Responsibilities include working with customers to understand their needs, creation of a conceptual design for a solution to those needs, and resolution to design and technology issues through the rest of the project realization.
1. Participate in the gathering and clarification of requirements and use cases for hardware and software (may require travel to customer locations).
2. Create conceptual design solutions that will balance customer goals and needs with technical constraints.
3. Support a change control process throughout the product lifecycle.
4. Identify and coordinate the resolution of emergent issues throughout the project lifecycle.
5. Ensure that the IP network solutions work well with other portions of the overall system.
6. Clearly communicate designs and changes to technical teams including engineering, testing, and customer organizations.
7. Support the creation and refinement of project and product development methodologies.
Job Skills:
Essential:
§ Minimum of a BS degree in engineering, computer science, or related field.
§ 5+ years experience working as a network architect.
§ Detailed understanding Ethernet networks, TCP/IP, UPD, Multi-Cast, network topologies, and components
§ Knowledge and understanding of routing protocols and principles, QoS, queuing, and network optimization.
§ In-depth knowledge of and experience with router platforms and excellent network analysis fundamentals.
§ Ability to identify and articulate architectural tradeoffs and partitioning to achieve network performance goals.
§ Ability to function effectively at both a strategic and tactical level.
· Aptitude to learn new technologies quickly and desire to excel.
· Well honed analytical thinking and attention to detail.
· Proven skill in creation of conceptual design solutions.
· Ability to work independently within a team-oriented environment.
· Ability to work well with engineers and technical people.
· Demonstrated ability to present to executive level.
· Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable:
