Job Duties:
Summary
Key member of the test team. Hands-on management of the systems integration test team, setting team priorities, providing technical direction, and ensuring integration test deliverables meet agreed upon timelines with pre-established quality metrics.
1. Prepare and maintain test plans for system integration testing
2. Contribute to the development and maintenance of the test strategy roadmap
3. Drive the definition of test configurations and scenarios to support system integration testing
4. Analyze, evaluate, and communicate test results and participate in reviews
5. Assign duties, set priorities, provide technical leadership, and mentor integration test team engineers
6. Manage contract staff and provide direction to outsourced test teams
7. Manages technical resources within budget and project schedule
8. Communicate and enforces technical standards and conformance to configuration management and other engineering policies and procedures
9. Provide input to the program office for integration test deliverables and timelines
10. Work closely with the development team, program office, and customers in identifying required tests
11. Help develop and implement test processes and procedures
12. Responsible for staff performance management and development
13. Contribute to identifying, quantifying, and mitigating risk
14. Apply generally accepted testing standards and techniques
15. Assist the department in the accomplishment of the team’s goals
16. Perform other duties as assigned
Job Skills:
Requirements
§ Minimum of a BS degree in engineering, computer science, closely related degree, or equivalent
§ 5+ years experience with communication systems test engineering
§ 10+ years of experience in systems and/or product development
§ 4+ years management and/or team leadership experience
§ Experience with systems engineering lifecycle, site commissioning, and customer deployment support
§ Experience with formal hardware and software version control and defect tracking
§ Demonstrated skills in planning and implementing complex systems test and integration
§ Clear understanding of hardware and software development practices and lifecycles
§ Strong problem solving ability and critical thinking skills
§ Ability to assess the impact of new or changing requirements on planned or existing complex projects
§ Adapts readily to changes in scope and purpose
§ Ability to function effectively at both a strategic and tactical level
§ Self directed and exhibits grace under pressure
§ Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Desirable
§ Working knowledge of common wireless protocols, network topologies, and IT infrastructure
§ Working knowledge of telecom networks
§ System integration experience in defense, aerospace, or rail domain
§ Experience with test automation and test scripts
§ Working knowledge of network diagnostic tools and techniques
