Job Duties:
Summary:
Works under the supervision of the Configuration and Process Manager to develop, implement, and support Engineering configuration management policies, procedures, and tools. Provides hands-on support to the Engineering teams and program and project management using version control and other configuration management tools and processes in the course of their work activities. Provides support for creating software and hardware design package releases to external and internal customers and for ensuring the completeness and accuracy of release documentation. Maintains configuration management information repositories and tools and ensures that all users are kept informed of changes and issues. Works with product development teams as assigned to help develop, troubleshoot, and document work processes and procedures. Identifies work process deficiencies and recommends process reviews and analysis.

Major Duties:
1.Gain and maintain an in-depth knowledge of the Client’s configuration management policies and procedures.
2.Gain and maintain a working knowledge of the Client’s software and firmware file organization sufficient to provide assistance in setting up and maintaining version control repositories.
3.Gain and maintain an understanding of hardware design and development processes and the nature and inter-relationships of resulting work products and how they are controlled.
4.Assist Project and Program Managers in configuration management planning and implementation.
5.Work with product development teams to organize, set up, and maintain version control repositories for hardware, firmware, and software work products.
6.Manage the migration of software between the development, testing, and production environments.
7.Provide ongoing version control tool support for product teams.
8.Support product teams in creation and maintenance of configuration documentation.
9.Provide configuration management support and oversight for hardware, firmware

Job Skills:
Essential:
•B.S. in Computer Science, engineering, or a related field.
•2-3 years experience in configuration or release management or similar role
•1-3 years experience in process development / process engineering.
•1+ years C or C++ programming experience.
•1+ years experience working within a formal change management process
•Experience with source control principles and tools, preferably Subversion.
•Experience working in hardware development and embedded software development environments is preferred. •Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
•A working knowledge of C and C++, and software development environments
•Familiarity with contemporary software engineering tools and best practices
•Excellent oral and written communication skills and experience writing technical documents.
•Strong interpersonal skills
•Ability to work in cross-departmental teams and to interact effectively with other members of the organization
