Job Duties:
Summary
To conceive, design, develop and validate communications product packaging and mechanical systems.

Major Duties:
1. Become familiar with industry standards regarding packaging of electronic assemblies including environmental specifications, mounting and electronic connectors
2. Assemble requirements for the packaging of various radio products
3. Develop packaging concepts for radio products for review by team members and customers
4. Assist in the creation of product specifications
5. Fully develop and detail design of packages working with team members to integrate electronic elements
6. Simulate, analyze and test package designs to verify conformance
7. Interface with vendors to develop first article parts sets
8. Release mechanical package sets to production or transfer documentation to CM

Job Skills:
Essential:
• B.S. Mechanical Engineering
• 5+ years experience
• Experience with various fabrication technologies including sheet metal, stamping, die casting, NC milling, extrusion as well as tooling issues
• Knowledgeable in applicable fabricated parts coating and plating requirements
• Skilled in the application of various fasteners
• Experience with heat sink design and thermal analysis
• Experience with MIL-810-D shock and vibration testing
• Skills in stress analysis, component/product evaluation and quality control
• Excellent SolidWorks and AutoCAD skills and proficient knowledge in Excel and Word
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong orientation towards quality, safety, and continuous improvement
• Established team player qualities

Desirable:
• Knowledge of wireless data communications products
• Design for RF emission control and EMI immunity
• EIA 19” rack mount assembly packaging
