Job Duties:
Summary
The Technical Product Manager is responsible for understanding the needs of internal and external customers, project goals, and deliverables. Using that information, the Technical Product Manager drives product development prioritization, product development feature and functionality roadmaps, and product release plans. This position requires close interaction with the development team, program management, and key customers. Additionally, the Technical Product Manager will have the opportunity to work with internal stakeholders, customers, and others on the product team to prioritize and design the usability of key product features.

Major Duties:
Within the project context, represent the internal and external customer perspective
Provide day-to-day product guidance, help drive timely decisions, and perform defect triage
Agile development process Product Owner
Act as a product specialist point of contact
Write product requirements documents
Define release milestones and roadmaps in conjunction with product line managers
Maintain the product roadmap
Drive product feature definition, release date, and content
Act as a leader within the company
Participate in design sessions to ensure cross functional teams understand expected results
Help define detailed technical requirements for new products
Have a detailed view of existing products and work closely with development to continually improve product functionality
Develop detailed understanding of customer use cases and deployment options
Select beta candidates and track beta progress
Deliver product and roadmap presentations to customers
Support product launch activities
Serve as engineering interface to the business development group
Other duties and activities as assigned

Job Skills:
Essential:
BS in engineering, BSCS, or equivalent
3+ years experience as a product owner, product manager or equivalent
8+ years experience in systems and/or product development as a designer, project manager, or analyst
5+ years experience in a team leadership role
Experience analyzing and creating product requirements
Knowledge of product lifecycle stages and processes
Ability to clearly communicate complex technical issues - Strong communication skills are a must
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast paced work environment
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize time with minimal supervision
Excellent technical skills and knowledge coupled with strong leadership and planning abilities
Able to accurately assess project resource needs and timelines
Strong organizational and project management skills
Ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority

Highly Desirable:
MBA or MS in Technology Entrepreneurship
Successful product launch experience in a lead role
Experience as a developer, scrum master, or product owner in an agile development environment
Experience with development of cellular, land mobile radio, or other wireless product
PMI certification
