Job Duties:
Summary
Key member of the test team. Responsibilities include identifying and defining detailed system and subsystem reliability analysis and tests for communication systems and their associated interfaces, preparing test plans and defining test configurations to support required tests. Appropriately represent the needs of stakeholders while maintaining overall project integrity.
Major Duties:
· Act as the liaison for reliability engineering activities between the client and 3rd party test service vendors.
· Collaborate with internal stakeholders and outside vendors to produce fully qualified and highly reliable designs.
· Lead product reliability requirements definition and test architecture.
· Participate in component selection and vendor qualification
· Manage test service vendor work activities.
· Participate in the development of test plans and test cases.
· Participate in the development of DFX requirements.
· Participate in functional, integration, usability, configuration and installation testing.
· Communicate test results and status.
· Evaluate the outcome of each test cycle and participate in reviews.
Job Skills:
Essential:
§ Minimum of a BS degree in physics, mechanical or electrical engineering
§ 10+ years experience with electromechanical systems reliability engineering and requirements analysis
§ Experience with at least 4 full major product releases
§ Detailed knowledge of Physics of Failure methodology, properties of materials
§ Detailed knowledge of FMECA, FEA, DOE, construction analysis and fault tree analysis
§ Clear understanding of embedded device product development and manufacturing practices
§ Strong failure analysis, problem solving and analytical skills
§ Excellent written and verbal communication skills, plus well-developed office software skills
§ Organized and detailed self starter, able to work independently with little supervision
§ Adapts readily to changes in scope and purpose
§ Experience with strategic vendor management
Desirable
§ Experience with development or testing of wireless systems and products
§ Experience in development of embedded software, C/C++, and real time systems
§ Working knowledge of telecom networks
